This is the basic shopping list for the first time cat owners. You should have the following items ready for raising a kitty:
cat food (wet & dry)
It’s important to choose good quality of food for your feline companion. What they eat smells like what they pooped. Timely’s feces never smelled horrible except when he has diarrhea. The food I give him is all natural (without any by-products). Some pet stores have a all natural cat food section and it’s easy for consumers to identify if the food they bought is all natural or not.
litter & litter box
litter scoop
feeding bowl & water bowl

It’s better to use separate bowls for food and water. Because 2 in 1 feeding bowls tend to get messy after a meal and the water bowl section may get contaminated with spilled food. Besides it’s easier for owner to refill fresh water if the water bowl is independent.

scratch pole/board
toys
grooming brush
toothbrush and toothpaste
carrier
collar & ID tag
break away collars are safer for your cat in case his/her collar gets caught on other objects he/she will be able to get loose by tugging away from the object.

Even though we don’t really know Timely’s birthday. Based on the date we found him, today should be his birthday. He has grown so much since we had him and I am proud of myself for being a good guardian.
Do I look good with this hat?
Where is my cake?

Oct 2009
The little rascal has been staying with us for 5 weeks and we haven’t came up with a name for him. But here are the list of names that we thought of:
1. Zorro. We noticed that on both sides of the kitten’s face, the area between his upper eyelid and his ears tends to have lower density of hair growth (some cats have the same condition and this is caused by genetic inheritance) so it looks like he is wearing a mask on his face. Also, the little rascal has black coat on him, just like Zorro in his black outfit. Plus he is getting more active now, he runs around the apartment like Zorro in his fighting mode. I liked the name but it’s just not too easy to pronounce, so we excluded it from the list.

This is the ointment that Timely used when his ear got cut by the window blinds. Dr. Harvey’s Organic Healing Cream is a great ointment because it’s all natural and made by organic ingredients. It can be used on cats , dogs, birds and even on their owners
. I think maybe you can also apply it on rabbits and hamsters. With it’s all natural components, it’s less worrisome to me if Timely ever tried to lick the ointment off.
This Healing cream works quickly and it’s easy to apply.
You or your animal can use this product for the following symptoms: minor skin irritations, hot spots, rashes, cuts, burns and itching.
